![]() ![]() The current was a little hot on those contacts, and it would literally 'burn' off the gold plating where it would make contact with the bussbar. The stop that switches Theatre/Cathedral controls a relay (can't remember if it is 12v or 24v). My case may have been an isolated incident, but I have had problems with my spectratone unit. Just go through cleaning the contacts and bussbars and that will clear up most issues. If you unscrew these, you'll notice how each manual can swing up reveling what is underneath it. Once you get the top cover off, you'll see long bolts on each side of the manuals. These organs "peel off" in layers, and are quite easy to maintain. ![]() You really just need to get the bulk of corrosion off, and most any contact cleaner (plastic-safe, of course) will get the job done. I don't recommend spending a load on deoxit, unless you can afford it. ![]() Plan on spending a good week with a case of Q-tips and some contact cleaner. Wurlitzer used "Cat Whisker" contacts for nearly everything in those organs, and they are usually tarnished black by now. 99.9% of the problems you'll find are from dirty switch contacts. ![]()
